The core clinical operation part of the dental implant process generally includes three steps, namely: implantation, installation of abutment, and installation of artificial crown, which are completed in two operations.
1. Implantation:
The first operation is performed under local anesthesia. A small incision is made on the gums of the toothless part, and a hole is prepared in the alveolar bone with a special high-speed and low-speed drill (i.e. implantation machine), and the implant made of artificial materials is implanted in the alveolar bone of the toothless part of the maxilla or mandible.
2. Installation of abutment:
The second operation is performed 4-6 months after the implant forms bone fusion with the jawbone (more than 6 months for the maxilla and more than 4 months for the mandible). The operation is just to use a special surgical instrument under local anesthesia to cut a small hole on the gums corresponding to the implant, expose the upper end of the implant, and install the gum base pile, that is, the implant implanted in the jawbone passes through the gums.
3. Install artificial crowns:
7-10 days after the second stage of surgery, the impression can be taken and the implant bridge and denture can be made.
It takes about 10-14 days to make the implant bridge and denture. After the trial wear is successful, the implant denture can be worn. After the implant denture is repaired, it is best to have a checkup once every 3 months and 6 months in the first year. It is best to come to the hospital or a nearby specialist hospital that conducts oral implant business for a checkup every year.
